Your Questions About Good Credit Card Offers http://bit.ly/nmZu5K William asks…What are some good credit card offers for a college student?I'm an entering Freshman in the fall. I mainly looking for highest cash back offers, not for travel.
By the way, I'm legally emancipated.Credit-Repair-Guy answers:New Federal Laws were passed in February that will make it virtually impossible for anyone under 21 to get a credit card.
You will need steady employment, with strong ability to pay back.
You will need to get a parent to co-sign with you.
But be careful - if you carry balances - which destroy credit
you will be destroying your parents credit equally.
Avoid credit cards to use them to carry balances.
This only destroys credit.
47% of Americans pay in full each month - they carry the highest scores.
Employers check, so do landlords and car insurance companies.
Do not foul up your future - don't carry balances.

Hope this could help you. :)Carol asks…Does it mean you have good credit if you get credit card offers?Because I started up my credit 2 yrs ago and ive never gotten any offers (you know the ones that come in the mail?) and this past 2 months i have gotten a few of them out of no where. Does that mean that i have built up good credit?Credit-Repair-Guy answers:No. They send those out to EVERYONE.Laura asks…Good credit card offers for first time user?Well I want to start building credit already as I'm almost 19 and would soon like to start making purchases that require good credit (car, house, etc). Yes parents can help for now, but I want to be ready to be able to hold my own also.
Saying that, what seems to be a good bank to start a credit line? Any credit cards that offer interest free for a while? I also take into account any bonuses they offer ("points" to purchase things and etc).
Also what's a safe way to build credit without going overboard and not being able to keep up with payments? Do I buy everyday items with it, and buy big purchases with a debit, or the other way around or what?
Any tips are welcome!
Thanks :]Credit-Repair-Guy answers:If you are a student, getting a student card should be easy. My first one was Discover. Many other big banks also offer them.
Don't take interest rates into account. If you cannot pay the balance every month, DON'T get the card.
Many student cards offer points/loyalty programs, but most of them are not worth much.
The fastest way to build credit is to meet two conditions: 1) pay on time every month, and 2) stay under 25% of your credit limit. So it is usually best to use the credit card for small things, and if any purchase exceeps 25% of the credit limit, use the debit card.Robert asks…Is this a good credit card offer?I was offered a citi platinum select visa. It offers 0%APR on purchases and 0%APR on balance transers until September 2008. There is a 3% fee(minimum of $5) for each balance transfer amount. All APRs including promotional APRs may increase automatically if you default becasue of late payments or going over the credit line. After 09/01/08 APR is 10.99%. There are no annual fees. How does balance transfers work?
My credit is not good I think it would be considered fair. Somewhere between 625-640 the last time I checked @ the begining of the year. I have 4 other cards 2 with APRs @9.99%. The other 2 I plan on paying one off and closing and the other I want to transfer ths balance. Is this a good idea.Credit-Repair-Guy answers:Don't close accounts, as this reflects negatively on your credit score.
If you take the 3%, and apply it to all of your balances and pay them off entirely before the offer expires, then of course it's a good deal.
The credit card company pays off your cards, but you must keep up the payments until you see that the payment has been made, otherwise you will have a late payment with fees and you will also have this on your record.Powered by Yahoo! Answers
