I like looking at sites that show you ways to make money online and how to quit your day job. This started off with me just trying to get information on how to build a blog, but over time I found that there are thousands of sites to show you how to get started.I wanted to just build a simple blog site and place a few ads on the blog and chat with people about what they thought about making money online. The first problem I encountered was information overload. It is no longer possible to just find a few sites on any topic these days. You have to really know what you are looking for when you conduct a search online these days.
I had never build a website or a blog and I wanted to see how easy it would be to build my own blog, but I had no idea what I wanted my blog to be about. I made a list of the things that I found interesting and I use that and a baseline for my search. I came across thousands of sites on "how to build a blog", but the majority of them wanted me to buy something.
I just wanted information at the beginning and I was not interested in buying anything at that point. After a few weeks of searching and studying web pages, it became apparent to me that in order to build a blog you really got to understand what a blog is all about. Then I decided that I would just build an affiliate marketing site and sell other people products on my site.
Again, no simple task. There were thousands of affilate products to promote and I needed to learn about marketing, web design, search engine optimization and so much more.
It took me seveal months of studying and reading forum posting before I was able to get my first affiliate marketing site up and running. I did not make any money on that site for months because I just build it and never told the world that it was there. It's like that old saying "if you build it they will come", well that partly true. You got to build it and then go and tell the world to come.
Here is a list of some of the most interesting sites I found during my quest to learn about blogs and affiliate marketing. The reason I like most of these sites is because most of them are just one page sites that get right to the point. Some have additional articles that I found interesting and I have purchased from many of these sites.
